Established in Montreal in the mid-nineties during what many consider the “Golden Era” of hip hop, Northern Lights (NL5) embody the characteristics that defined that age of music while maintaining relevance for the new generation. A strong emphasis on the fundamentals of lyricism and authenticity lays the groundwork for the group’s genuine sound. Through clouds of thick smoke, amongst bottles of strong spirits, and to the sound of a driving beat, the Northern Lights emerged. The group is made up of five emcees who share a common goal of creating world-class hip hop music for the masses whilemaintaining the integrity of their vision.
